can any body tell me what "eager beaver" means. i heard it in my listening practice cd.

Hi there,

It's an idiom which means a person who works very hard and is eager to do things.

mehdi is right. for more explanation here is Mc Grawhill's dictionary of american english's entry:

someone who is very enthusiastic; someone
who works very hard.

e.g. New volunteers are always eager
beavers. The young assistant gets to work very early. She’s
a real eager beaver.
